Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in Microsoft Word.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is 1.5 spacing; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
  • If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.
  • The Author accepts that the journal and its editors do not accept any legal responsibility for plagarism committed within the submitted article.
  • The Author created the submitted article/review/paper during their undergraduate or honours programme.

Author Guidelines

Author Guidelines

 

Submissions are encouraged from undergraduate scholars (Four Year Bachelors, Three Year Bachelors and Honours Students as in some Jurisdictions) from across the globe; submissions ought to be relevant to the mission, aims and scope of the Journal (see About the Journal). Especially encouraged are submissions from African scholars both within and without the continent. Submissions must generally relate to either Africa (or its component parts) as a case study or as a comparative study with the rest of the world.

 

All Research Article submissions must conform to the following standards:

 

  • Must be Times New Roman font with 12 point size and 1,5 line spacing.

 

  • Must be between 3,000-10,000 words.

 

  • Must include a title page and an abstract.

 

  • Must use the Chicago Author-Date Referencing Style

 

  • The work must have been completed during undergraduate/honours study.
 
  • Please also include a 300-500 word abstract of your article

 

Review Articles and Book Reviews conform to the same standards except for length.

 

Review Articles:

 

  • Must be between 4,000 and 8,000 words.

 

Book Reviews:

 

  • Must be between 1,500 and 4,000 words.
