Journal of Emerging African Scholarship

Africa In Focus, Global In Impact

The Journal of Emerging African Scholarship is a MIT (Multi-, Inter-, Transdisciplinary), peer-reviewed and open access journal; publishing original scholarship written by undergraduate students. Living by its motto Africa In Focus, Global In Impact, it strives to promote African scholarship and pan-African cooperation in seeking to build Africa’s knowledge base from the ground up. Promoting excellence in Africa centric scholarship by undergraduate students paves the way forward for further establishing Africa as a hub of academic excellence both on the continent and globally.

With its highly developmental focus, it seeks to provide opportunities for the future academics of Africa throughout the chain from undergraduate to early career researcher. Through this endeavour, it will contribute to the growth of Africa's academia. JEAS is focused towards publishing research on Africa and welcomes submissions from undergraduate students both in Africa but also from around the world. JEAS is the first and only peer-reviewed undergraduate research journal founded in Africa that is open to submissions from across the continent and around the world. This Journal is hosted by the Stellenbosch University Library and Information Services and based at Stellenbosch University.
